Darren started his own accounting practice in 2006.
Darren enjoys consulting with small business owners and has extensive experience in personal and corporate taxes and preparation of corporate year ends. Specialties include advising owner-managed business and professionals regarding tax and financial matters including corporate structure and income tax minimization.
Background
Darren and his family have lived in the Penticton and Summerland area since 1990 after moving from Saskatchewan where he grew up on a mixed
farm and ranch in the Swift Current area.
He attended Okanagan University College and received his Certified Management Account designation in 1998.
Darren worked at Canada Revenue Agency for thirteen years gaining valuable tax knowledge in various divisions.
During this time at Canada Revenue Agency Darren worked in the audit section for 7 years and duties ranged from auditing personal, corporate and GST issues as well as providing tax research to a group of auditors. During this time he was actively involved in the audit selection process.
Darren completed his time in Canada Revenue Agency with the criminal investigations section for six years and was an investigator prosecuting tax fraud. While in Investigations, Darren was trained in the highly technical area of computer search and evidence recovery performing these duties nationwide.
Personal Interests:
Away from work Darren spend time with his wife Lori and their two children, Madison and Karter. He has a passion for coaching softball, baseball, and football and enjoys golf.
